February 25 is World Spay Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness of the benefits of spaying and neutering pets. In 2024, more than half of the 2.9 million felines entering shelters were kittens under five months, reports Shelter Count. That’s nearly 1.7 million kittens. According to Best Friends, a dog or cat is killed in America’s shelters every 90 SECONDS, simply because they don’t have a safe place to call home.
